Architects is a British metalcore band formed in 2004 in Brighton by twin brothers Dan and Tom Searle. Known for blending technical precision with emotional intensity, the band evolved from their early mathcore-influenced chaos into a melodic but still heavy modern metalcore sound. They rose to wider recognition with albums such as Hollow Crown and Lost Forever // Lost Together, which showcased powerful riffs, atmospheric production, and socially conscious themes. Following the passing of founding guitarist and primary songwriter Tom Searle in 2016, the band continued in his honor, releasing Holy Hell, a critically acclaimed exploration of grief, resilience, and catharsis. Architects have since become one of the most influential heavy bands of their generation, performing globally and releasing chart-topping albums like For Those That Wish to Exist and The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit. Their sound balances aggression, melody, and introspective lyricism, cementing their position as leaders within modern rock and metal.
