ATARASHII GAKKO! is a Japanese girl group (originally known as “新しい学校のリーダーズ” / “New School Leaders”) formed in 2015. The group consists of four members: Mizyu, Rin, Suzuka, and Kanon. What sets them apart is their bold, rebellious approach: they wear retro-inspired Japanese school uniforms (sailor-style fuku), and they choreograph their own high-energy, expressive dance moves — a mix of punk energy, hip-hop street dance, and even influences from traditional Japanese performance. Musically, their sound fuses various influences — from modern J-Pop and Showa-era kayōkyoku to rap, punk, dance, and jazz — defying easy genre labels.
