Augie March are a veteran Australian indie/pop rock band formed in 1996 in Shepparton, Victoria. They are celebrated for their literate songwriting, intricate arrangements, and a sound that spans from delicate melancholic balladry to lush, dynamic rock. Led by frontman Glenn Richards (vocals, guitar), with long‑time members including Edmondo Ammendola (bass), David Williams (drums), Kiernan Box (keyboards), and formerly Adam Donovan (lead guitar), Augie March built their reputation through critically acclaimed albums and thoughtful lyricism that elevated them above many of their indie contemporaries. Their debut album Sunset Studies (2000) earned widespread praise and ARIA nominations, while Moo, You Bloody Choir (2006) became a breakthrough success—peaking at number 10 on the ARIA Albums Chart, winning the Australian Music Prize, and spawning the enduring single “One Crowded Hour.” Over a career that spans decades, they’ve released multiple albums and toured both Australia and internationally, earning respect for both studio craftsmanship and live performance. After a hiatus from 2009 to 2014, Augie March reformed and continued to release new material, including Havens Dumb (2014), Bootikins (2018), Bloodsport & Porn (2021), and Malagrotta (2024), blending their signature poetic style with ongoing evolution in sound.
