Ausecuma Beats are a vibrant nine‑piece Afro‑Cuban ensemble based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, celebrated for their high‑energy fusion of West African rhythms, Latin grooves and global musical traditions. The group’s name reflects the diverse origins of its members — Aus (Australia), Se (Senegal), Cu (Cuba) and Ma (Mali) — symbolizing their multicultural identity and collaborative philosophy. Formed around the shared idea of bringing cultural heritage into a contemporary urban setting, Ausecuma Beats feature world‑class percussion (including djembe, doun doun and congas), melodic instruments like guitar, saxophone and balafon, and powerful vocals that together create infectious rhythms and dance‑able music steeped in African and Caribbean influences. They released their self‑titled debut LP and EP in 2019–2020, helping establish their sound and presence in Australia’s live music scene, and have since followed up with subsequent albums such as Dakar Bamako (2024) and Musso. Their music reflects stories of migration, unity and cultural collaboration, bringing together musicians from across the world in a shared musical journey. Ausecuma Beats are known for their energetic live performances at festivals and community events throughout Australia, and for promoting cultural exchange and musical diversity through rhythm, harmony and dance.
