Bio
Avatar is a Swedish heavy metal band formed in Gothenburg in 2001. Renowned for their theatrical stage presence, elaborate face paint, and genre-defying sound, the band blends melodic death metal roots with groove metal, alternative metal, and progressive influences. Fronted by Johannes Eckerström, Avatar has built a global following through concept-driven albums, explosive live performances, and a distinctive visual identity inspired by dark circus and horror aesthetics. Their acclaimed discography includes *Black Waltz*, *Hail the Apocalypse*, *Feathers & Flesh*, *Avatar Country*, *Hunter Gatherer*, *Dance Devil Dance*, and *Don't Go In The Forest*, establishing them as one of modern metal's most innovative and theatrical acts.
