Bio
Awning is an indie rock band from Aotearoa New Zealand, crafting melodic, emotionally driven songs that blend shimmering guitar textures with introspective lyricism. Since emerging in 2023, the band has steadily built a following through a series of EPs and singles before releasing their self-titled debut album in 2025, featuring tracks such as "Punching a Bruise," "The Gun," "Game," and "Pure & Simple." Awning's music combines jangly guitars, warm melodies, and thoughtful songwriting, drawing from indie rock, dream pop, and alternative influences. Their sound balances atmospheric arrangements with hook-driven compositions, placing them alongside contemporary New Zealand indie acts.
