BANJZIG are a Melbourne-based three-piece (now often four) Celtic-doom metal outfit blending traditional Irish and Scottish instrumentation—banjos, octave mandolins, bagpipes—with heavy-metal influences like Motörhead, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. They describe their songs as spanning from ancient sean-nós children’s songs to modern hardcore classics, filtered through their unique feral Celtic-metal aesthetic. Expect raucous live shows and an unapologetically irreverent approach to genre-fusion.
