Bio
BANKS (born Jillian Rose Banks) is an American singer, songwriter, and producer known for her moody, emotional blend of alternative R&B and dark electronic pop. Emerging in the early 2010s with her debut album Goddess (2014), she quickly gained international acclaim for her ethereal sound and introspective lyrics. Her follow-up albums — The Altar (2016), III (2019), and Serpentina (2022) — expanded her sonic palette with sharper electronic textures, experimental production, and empowering themes of self-discovery and resilience. BANKS’ music often blends atmospheric synths, brooding beats, and haunting vocals, drawing comparisons to artists like FKA twigs, Lana Del Rey, and The Weeknd (with whom she has toured). Notable tracks include “Beggin for Thread,” “Gemini Feed,” “Contaminated,” and “Skinnydipped.” Her artistry combines vulnerability with boldness, establishing her as a key voice in modern alt-R&B and electronic pop.
