Bio
bbno$ (pronounced “baby no money”), born Alexander Leon Gumuchian on June 30, 1995, in Vancouver, Canada, is a rapper, singer, and songwriter celebrated for his witty, internet-driven brand of hip hop. Initially a competitive swimmer, he turned to music after a back injury and began posting tracks on SoundCloud in 2016 under the name bbnomula. He achieved viral fame with his 2019 global hit “Lalala” (produced by Y2K), which amassed billions of streams and became a TikTok sensation. Known for his playful lyricism and humorous tone, bbno$ describes his sound as “oxymoronic rap — ignorant but melodic.” His music blends trap beats with catchy, minimalist melodies and a meme-friendly style that resonates with Gen Z audiences. Following his success, he continued to expand his catalogue with albums such as Recess (2019), Good Luck Have Fun (2020), Eat Ya Veggies! (2021), Bag or Die (2022), and the self-titled bbno$ (2025). His collaboration “Edamame” with Rich Brian further showcased his global appeal, while his ongoing partnership with Yung Gravy on the Baby Gravy series has cemented him as a pioneer of fun, internet-era rap. In 2025, bbno$ announced his headlining performance at the &FRIENDS Pop Culture & Music Festival in the Philippines and continues to advocate for artist creativity over artificial intelligence in music production.
