Bio
**Bengal Tigers** are a **cult-classic heavy metal band from Melbourne, Australia**, formed in **1979**. They were one of the early proponents of heavy metal in Australia, emerging during the *New Wave of British Heavy Metal*-influenced era and quickly signing with Mushroom Records. Their early release *Metal Fetish* (1982/84) became a revered underground classic, and the band built a strong live reputation throughout the 1980s and 1990s before undergoing hiatuses. After reuniting in the 2010s, Bengal Tigers returned to activity with renewed energy, performing internationally — including at Germany’s *Keep It True Festival* — and releasing *Cry Havoc* in 2025, their first full-length in decades. The band’s lineup has included long-time vocalist Gordon Heald alongside members such as Yuri Linzew (guitar), Rob Bodger (bass), and Justin Linkins (drums).
