Bias B (real name Adam Stevens) is a pioneering Australian hip‑hop artist and rapper from Melbourne, Victoria, widely regarded as one of the foundational figures in the local Aussie hip‑hop scene. He began writing lyrics in 1989 and performing live from 1991, at a time when the genre was still underground in Australia. Bias B released his debut album Beezwax in 1998, which has since become a classic in Australian hip‑hop history despite slow early sales. He followed this with a string of influential releases including *Hip Hop Life*, *In Bed With Bias*, *Been There, Done That*, *Aerosol Era* and *Biaslife*, showcasing his lyrical skill, authentic storytelling and connection to Melbourne’s urban culture. Beyond recording, Bias B has been deeply involved in developing the Australian scene — working at the influential Obese Records label, hosting radio shows on PBS FM and 3RRR, and collaborating with other key figures in Aussie hip hop. His contributions have helped shape the identity and growth of the genre across decades.
