Birdsnake are a Melbourne, Victoria–based electronic music collective known for their immersive, textural blend of psychedelic‑infused downtempo electronica that straddles the line between digital production and organic instrumentation. The four‑piece group — Winton Findlay, Leon Sebastian, Ayden Thorne and Jacob Minarelli — met through music school and developed their sound through improvised jam sessions before launching their recorded work. Their music incorporates synth‑driven soundscapes, dubbed‑out rhythms, aquatic‑inspired textures and hypnotic grooves, creating transportive sonic experiences that feel equally suited to introspective listening and dance floor moments. Birdsnake earned attention with releases including their debut EP Birdsnake Begins and their full‑length album Biofilter, the latter featuring shimmering layers of synths, deep bass and atmospheric percussion. Birdsnake’s immersive live sets and evolving electronic palette have helped them carve out a distinctive place in Melbourne’s vibrant electronic music scene.
