Bio
Biz (real name Peter Elmaloglou) is a pioneering Australian techno DJ and producer with roots in the underground electronic music scene dating back to the late 1980s. He’s known for his Detroit-inspired techno sound and has worked alongside many of the genre’s greatest names such as Richie Hawtin, Derrick May, Carl Cox, Jeff Mills and Carl Craig. Over his career, Biz has released more than 20 records worldwide (including under his alias Calix), had tracks charted by respected techno figures, and remixed notable artists like Green Velvet for Ministry of Sound. Beyond producing and DJing, he has been an influential figure in Sydney’s scene—running record stores, promoting techno events, and helping introduce iconic Detroit artists to Australian audiences. Biz’s work has also seen him involved with labels and compilations tied to the global techno community.
