Bio
BJ Holy is an artist, composer, and performer from London. #🧎🏻 BJ Holy shows combine orchestral instrumentation with electronics, live vocals, plundered samples, and film/video installation. Cultivating catharsis and temporal suspension are guiding principles in BJ’s practice. Weaving together fragments of ambient, electronic, folk, and industria club, BJ Holy compositions are idiosyncratic and expansive. Both poignant and playful: elegant and experimental. Melancholy, desire, intimacy, rapture, storytelling, and the contemporary city landscape are themes that recur across Boswell’s multidisciplinary portfolio. The work disarms and stirs. BJ has played in venues across London, Bristol, Paris & Montreal. He composes original scores for theatre, fashion, choreographed dance, and short films. His debut album will release later this year.
