Bio
Black Dime Cabaret is a Melbourne-based progressive / theatrical rock band known for combining storytelling, concept-driven music, and dramatic stage performance. The band was formed in 2019 and built around a fictional narrative world called the Black Dime Cabaret, where their albums follow a larger story arc involving characters, themes, and a cinematic universe-style concept. Their music blends progressive rock, alternative rock, pop, and musical theatre influences, often compared to acts that mix narrative storytelling with rock music. They are also described as a genre-bending rock band with theatrical flair, incorporating elements of art rock and conceptual storytelling into their releases. On social and promotional materials, they often present themselves as a progressive art rock project with conceptual themes (including witches, cabaret storytelling, and fictional mythology).
