Bio
Blackwater Holylight is an all-female heavy psych/doom band originally formed in Portland, Oregon in 2016. Their sound blends doom metal, psychedelic rock, shoegaze, stoner rock, and dream-pop, combining crushing riffs with atmospheric melodies and ethereal vocals. Led by vocalist/bassist Allison “Sunny” Faris, the band became known for their immersive live shows and emotionally heavy songwriting, drawing comparisons to acts like Chelsea Wolfe, Hum, and early Black Sabbath while maintaining a distinct “witchy” and cinematic style. Their releases include the self-titled debut *Blackwater Holylight* (2018), *Veils of Winter* (2019), *Silence/Motion* (2021), and *Not Here Not Gone* (2026). Recent material explores grief, transformation, vulnerability, and shoegaze-influenced textures while retaining their signature doom-heavy atmosphere.
