Bleeding Through is an American metalcore band formed in 1999 in Orange County, California by vocalist Brandan Schieppati originally as a side project after his time in other hardcore bands. The group quickly became influential in the early 2000s heavy music scene by blending hardcore punk roots with elements of melodic death metal, symphonic black metal and aggressive metalcore to create a dark, intense and highly emotive sound. They released their first independent albums Dust to Ashes (2001) and Portrait of the Goddess (2002) before signing with Trustkill Records and breaking through with This Is Love, This Is Murderous (2003). That era brought them wider attention through touring and media exposure, including high‑energy performances at festivals and tours in the U.S. and internationally. Bleeding Through’s lineup has seen changes over time, but core members like Brandan Schieppati (vocals), Derek Youngsma (drums), Marta Demmel (keyboards), John Arnold (guitar), Brandon Richter (guitar) and others have contributed to their evolving sound. After a hiatus and breakup in 2014, the band reunited in 2017 and continued releasing music, including albums like Love Will Kill All (2018) and Nine (2025). Throughout their career, Bleeding Through has been known for their intense live shows, blending brutal aggression with atmospheric and melodic elements that set them apart in the metalcore genre
