Bio
Brown Spirits are an instrumental psychedelic rock trio from Coburg, Melbourne, Australia, known for their raw, energetic fusion of Krautrock, progressive rock, jazz fusion, deep funk, and experimental psychedelia. Recording and mixing their music entirely on ¼-inch analogue tape with a strict DIY ethos, the band creates hypnotic, groove-driven compositions featuring driving rhythm sections, analog synthesizers, wah-soaked guitars, and expansive improvisation. After independently releasing a trilogy of albums, Brown Spirits became the first Australian act signed to the legendary UK label Soul Jazz Records, which released *Solitary Transmissions* (2023) and *Cosmic Seeds* (2025). Their immersive live performances blend heavy psychedelic jams with cosmic soundscapes, earning them recognition within the international psych and progressive music scenes.
