Callum Easter is a Scottish singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and sound designer based in Edinburgh. Originally from Dunbar, he first gained attention as a member of indie-rock band The Stagger Rats before establishing himself as a solo artist with a distinctive blend of rock, folk, blues, soul, and experimental electronics. He is known for his DIY approach, often writing, recording, producing, and even mastering his own music. Before pursuing music full-time, Easter was a promising footballer and attended college in the United States on a soccer scholarship. After returning to Scotland, he taught himself piano and began developing his own unconventional musical style. His debut album, Here Or Nowhere (2019), was released through Lost Map Records and earned widespread critical acclaim for its mixture of lo-fi electronics, blues-influenced vocals, accordion, organ drones, and experimental production. Follow-up album System (2021) expanded his sound into politically charged rock, soul, and electronic territory while retaining his adventurous, genre-defying approach.
