Cenotaph is a pioneering Mexican death-metal band formed in 1989 in Mexico City. Known as one of the earliest and most influential forces in Mexico’s extreme-metal scene, they delivered brutal, raw early death metal before evolving toward darker, more melodic and atmospheric styles. Their landmark releases include The Gloomy Reflection of Our Hidden Sorrows (1992), Riding Our Black Oceans (1994), and Epic Rites (1996). After reuniting in the late 2010s, the band returned to touring and continues to perform internationally, celebrating their legacy as a key act in Latin American death metal.
