Bio
**Channel One Sound System** is a \**legendary reggae and dub sound system originally from **London, UK*** that has been active since **1979** and is regarded as one of the most respected names in global sound system culture. They were founded by **Mikey Dread** and his brother **Jah T**, taking their name in homage to Jamaica’s famous *Channel One Studio*. Their mission has always been to **break down barriers through reggae music**, spreading conscious roots and dub sounds worldwide. Over four decades, Channel One has played at events across the globe — from their long-running presence at London’s *Notting Hill Carnival* (over 30 consecutive years) to major festivals and international tours, and they’ve brought their heavy, hand-built sound system to audiences in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond. Alongside selector Mikey Dread, the collective often features MCs like **Ras Kayleb** and **Ras Sherby**, and they are known for exclusive dubplates, roots reggae, and steppa selections played through custom bass-heavy speakers.
