Charlie Ivan Band is an Australian alternative/rock music group rooted in the vast landscapes of Central Australia. Originally emerging as the musical vehicle for songwriter and vocalist Charlie Ivan, the band has developed a distinctive sound that blends introspective, melancholic songwriting with atmospheric instrumentation shaped by Australia’s outback sensibilities. They released their debut EP I Fell and It Rained in 2022 and followed it with their full‑length album Where The Dogs Go To Die (2024), recorded on Arrernte Country in Mparntwe/Alice Springs. The album is steeped in dark moods and lyrical reflections on love, heartache, and vast landscapes, with contributions from bandmates Sam Sargent (drums) and Ned Gaynor (bass), alongside collaborative voices and harmonies. Through their evocative songwriting and richly textured arrangements, Charlie Ivan Band has carved out a unique space within the Australian independent music scene, blending elements of alternative rock with emotional depth and regional storytelling.
