Bio
Choof is a Melbourne-based extreme music band known for their chaotic, high-energy style that blends grindcore, powerviolence, hardcore punk, and sludge-influenced aggression. Formed in Australia’s underground heavy scene, Choof quickly gained attention for their unpredictable live shows, abrasive humour, and raw, unfiltered sound. Their music is fast, noisy, and deliberately chaotic, often shifting between blistering grindcore bursts, stop-start hardcore sections, and sludgy breakdowns. They’ve built a reputation as one of Australia’s more extreme live acts, with performances described as loud, violent, and chaotic in both sound and stage energy, reflecting the intensity of their recordings. Their releases and live shows are part of the modern Australian underground extreme scene, alongside grindcore and hardcore acts pushing aggressive, DIY-driven music culture.
