Bio
Ciao Lucifer are an Amsterdam-based indie-pop duo formed by longtime friends Marnix Dorrestein and Willem Wits. The pair have been making music together since high school and developed Ciao Lucifer as a project that combines vulnerable, personal songwriting with bright, energetic and highly danceable indie pop. Their music tackles subjects such as growing up, masculinity, emotions, relationships and personal struggles, but wraps those themes in catchy hooks, playful arrangements and an intentionally upbeat sound. Their 2022 album Good News particularly explores the transition into adulthood while maintaining their cheerful, quirky character. Live, Ciao Lucifer are known for turning their concerts into colourful, high-energy parties, linking songs together almost like a DJ set and building a continuous flow of hooks and grooves designed to get the audience dancing. Their sound is commonly described as indie pop / sunny party-pop, with a playful experimental streak.
