Sir Cliff Richard (born Harry Rodger Webb on 14 October 1940 in Lucknow, British India) is a British singer, musician, and actor whose career has spanned more than six decades. Often referred to as the UK’s answer to Elvis Presley, he was among the first British rock and roll stars, rising to prominence with his 1958 breakthrough single “Move It” — regarded as one of the first authentic British rock hits. Over his career, Cliff Richard has sold more than 250 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. He is the only artist to achieve a UK No.1 single in five consecutive decades — from the 1950s through the 1990s — with hits including “Living Doll,” “Summer Holiday,” “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” and “Devil Woman.” He has received multiple Brit Awards and was knighted in 1995 for his contributions to music and charity, becoming Sir Cliff Richard. A devout Christian, his faith has also played a key role in shaping his personal life and public image.
