Bio
Collect Call is a music project led by Joseph Thorpe, a Brighton-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. The project blends dream pop, indie rock, shoegaze, and atmospheric pop, creating a lush and immersive soundscape that emphasizes melodic hooks, soft vocals, and textured instrumentation. Collect Call began as Thorpe’s personal creative outlet, focusing on introspective lyrics and expansive, layered arrangements. While primarily a solo endeavor, the project occasionally features collaborators for recordings and live performances, adding depth and variety to the music. Their work, including releases like The Golden Hour, has been noted for its nostalgic, emotive quality, combining airy synths, reverberant guitars, and gentle rhythmic elements to evoke a dreamy, reflective mood. Collect Call has gradually built a following in the UK’s indie and dream pop scenes, earning praise from outlets like York Calling for its evocative and carefully crafted sound.
