Bio
Country Struts are a Naarm/Melbourne‑based boot‑scooting duo and live dance/music collective made up of dancers and hosts Gail (Abigail Varney) and Glenn (Alice Glenn) who run country‑style line dancing classes, hoedowns and events across Victoria and beyond. Since around 2022, they’ve been teaching beginner‑friendly line dance and boot‑scooting, hosting regular sessions in Brunswick, St Kilda and Richmond, and performing at major festivals and community events such as RISING Festival and St Kilda Festival. Rather than being a conventional band, Country Struts blends country music‑infused dance experiences with live performances and DJ sets, creating joyful social gatherings that encourage everyone—regardless of dance experience—to hit the floor and have fun. Their events mix live country‑style music, boot‑scooting instruction, hoedown energy and crowd participation, making them a fixture in the Melbourne scene for upbeat, community‑oriented country dance culture.
