CROW is an influential Australian rock band from Sydney, originally formed in 1986 by songwriters Peter Fenton and Peter Archer. Emerging from the late-’80s underground scene, the band became known for their raw, unpredictable live shows and emotionally intense songwriting, helping shape Australia’s alternative rock landscape. Throughout the 1990s, Crow released critically acclaimed albums including My Kind of Pain (1993), Li-Lo-ing (1995), and Play With Love (1998), earning a reputation as one of the country’s most important underground rock acts. They were once described by Juice magazine as “the best band in Australia since The Birthday Party,” highlighting their impact on the scene. After disbanding in 1999, the band reunited in 2007 and continues to perform and release music, including later material like Arcane (2010). Known for blending melodic sensitivity with chaotic energy, Crow remains a respected and enduring presence in Australian alternative rock.
