Bio
Cryptivore is a Brisbane‑based extreme metal project formed in 2015 by songwriter and multi‑instrumentalist Chris Anning. Originally conceived as a one‑man death metal/grindcore band, Cryptivore has since evolved into a live performing act while retaining its raw old‑school sound. The project draws heavy influence from classic death metal and grindcore pioneers such as Carcass, Rottrevore, and Grave, aiming to blend classic riff‑based death metal intensity with grind‑infused aggression. Cryptivore’s early demo Unseen Divinity showcased this approach, and later releases like the full‑length Celestial Extinction further refined their old‑school, crushing style. Cryptivore has supported international and local heavy acts on stage and remains an active part of Australia’s underground metal scene.
