Bio
Origins & Evolution: The members — Laurens Houvast (vocals/guitar), Frank te Riet (bass/mellotron), and Marco Prij (drums) — originally played together as Distillator, a fast thrash metal band. As their songwriting matured, they shifted toward more complex and atmospheric metal, prompting a name change to Cryptosis around 2020 and sign‑up with Century Media Records. Musical Growth: Their debut album Bionic Swarm showcased aggressive, technical thrash with modern touches, while subsequent releases (like Celestial Death) have expanded into more atmospheric, layered territory. Themes: Their lyrics and concepts often explore dystopian, futuristic, and high‑concept ideas, matching the modern and intense tone of their music.
