Daddy Long Legs are a New York City–based trio known for their raw, high-energy mix of blues, garage rock, and punk-infused roots music. Formed in 2010, the band quickly built a reputation for explosive live shows that combine harmonica-driven blues, gritty vocals, and stripped-down instrumentation. Their sound is heavily inspired by classic American blues artists and early rock ’n’ roll, but delivered with a modern lo-fi, garage-band intensity. Fronted by Brian Hurd (vocals, harmonica), with Murat Aktürk (guitar) and Josh Styles (drums), they focus on reviving traditional blues styles while pushing them into a louder, more chaotic, punk-leaning direction. Their albums—such as Lowdown Ways and Street Sermons—feature a mix of swampy blues riffs, gospel touches, and raw R\&B energy. They are often described as a “garage blues revival” band, bringing old-school blues forms into a loud, sweaty, and contemporary live setting. In short: they sit at the intersection of blues tradition and garage rock chaos, with a strong DIY, punk-like performance style.
