Danny Rampling is an English DJ, producer, broadcaster, and one of the pioneering figures of the UK's acid house and rave movement. Beginning his career in the early 1980s playing hip-hop, funk, and soul in London clubs, he helped introduce the Balearic sound to the UK after a formative trip to Ibiza in 1987. That same year, he launched the legendary Shoom club night, widely regarded as one of the birthplaces of the British acid house scene and modern rave culture. Beyond his influence as a club promoter and DJ, Rampling became a prominent radio personality through Kiss FM and later BBC Radio 1, where his Love Groove Dance Party show helped bring house music to a mainstream audience. Over his decades-long career, he has released numerous mix compilations, produced original music, and continued performing at major clubs and festivals worldwide, remaining one of the most respected and influential figures in electronic dance music.
