DARTZ (stylised in all caps) is a New Zealand rock/punk band from Wellington, Aotearoa (New Zealand), formed in 2019. Known for their raucous, high-energy sound and sharp, witty lyrics about everyday life and culture, the four-piece have become one of the most buzzed-about contemporary punk-rock exports from New Zealand. They quickly gained attention after an impromptu opening slot for The Chats turned into a full-time band, and have since built a devoted fanbase with infectious live shows and hook-driven anthems. DARTZ have released two studio albums — The Band From Wellington, New Zealand (2022) and Dangerous Day To Be A Cold One (2024) — both praised for blending irreverent humour with gritty, punchy rock riffs. Their second album debuted at #1 on the Official New Zealand Album Charts and received critical recognition, including nominations and wins at national music awards. The band has toured internationally, including multiple shows in Australia and Europe, cementing their reputation as hard-working road warriors.
