DYGL (pronounced “Day‑glo”) is a four‑piece indie rock band formed in 2012 in Tokyo, Japan by Nobuki Akiyama (vocals & guitar), Yosuke Shimonaka (guitar), Yotaro Kachi (bass), and Kohei Kamoto (drums). They emerged from a university music club and quickly gained attention for their guitar‑driven, English‑sung rock sound, drawing on influences from garage rock, jangle pop, and alternative rock. DYGL released their first EP in 2015 and recorded their debut full‑length album Say Goodbye to Memory Den in 2017, produced by Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes. Wikipedia Since then, they’ve released several albums including Songs of Innocence & Experience (2019), A Daze in a Haze (2021), Thirst (2022), and new material like the Cut the Collar EP. They’ve toured widely across Asia, Europe, the United States, and at major festivals such as SXSW, Fuji Rock, and Summer Sonic, building a global following with energetic live shows and melodic indie rock.
