Escape-ism is an experimental rock project led by American musician, author, and cultural commentator Ian Svenonius, with collaborator Sandi Denton. Described as a "found-sound-dream-drama," the project strips rock music down to its essentials, combining minimalist instrumentation, drum machines, spoken-word passages, garage rock riffs, and performance art. Since its debut in 2017, Escape-ism has released acclaimed albums including *Introduction to... Escape-ism*, *The Lost Record*, *The Silent Record*, *RATED Z*, and *Charge of the Love Brigade*. Known for its provocative, theatrical live performances and avant-garde approach, the project continues Svenonius' tradition of pushing the boundaries of underground rock music.
