Bio
Fishbone is an influential American band from Los Angeles, California, whose fearless fusion of ska, punk, funk, soul, reggae, metal, and alternative rock has made them one of the most innovative acts to emerge from the 1980s alternative music scene. Formed in 1979, the group quickly gained a reputation for explosive live performances, virtuosic musicianship, socially conscious lyrics, and a genre-defying sound that helped pave the way for countless ska-punk, funk metal, and alternative rock bands that followed. Fronted by the charismatic Angelo Moore, Fishbone has built a devoted global following through landmark releases such as *In Your Face*, *Truth and Soul*, *The Reality of My Surroundings*, and *Give a Monkey a Brain... And He'll Swear He's the Center of the Universe*. Their music seamlessly combines infectious grooves, sharp political commentary, humor, and high-energy performance, while continuing to evolve with new material, including their 2025 album *Stockholm Syndrome*. More than four decades into their career, Fishbone remains one of the most respected and enduring pioneers of alternative music, celebrated for pushing musical boundaries and delivering electrifying live shows.
