Fleeting Persuasion is the current full-band project of Melbourne-based musician James Spencer Harrison, formerly releasing music as J M S Harrison. Around 2017, after his Traced Out LP, Harrison moved toward a denser, richer sound and changed the name to Fleeting Persuasion. Their first album under this name, Forever Caught (2019), was recorded at Crosstown Studios (Melbourne) and explored moodier indie/rock textures. They followed that up with Will They Come Back (released Feb 2024), which features more layered instrumentation, textured production, guitars, bass, drums, synths, and exploration of darker emotional themes. Live, they’ve supported well-known acts (e.g. The Clouds, Steve Kilbey, Bluebottle Kiss) and have become known for immersive performances.
