Frances Mistry is a Brighton-based British singer-songwriter whose music blends indie pop, indie folk, dream pop, and alternative rock. She has emerged as one of the UK's promising independent artists through emotionally honest songwriting, atmospheric production, and socially conscious lyricism. Mistry began writing music from a young age after learning classical piano, later expanding into guitar and songwriting. Her music combines intimate storytelling with lush, guitar-led arrangements, often exploring identity, friendship, belonging, mental wellbeing, and social justice. She has described her sound as "galaxy dream pop," reflecting its dreamy textures and introspective tone. She steadily built a following through a string of acclaimed independent singles, including "Pick at My Skin," "Our Blood," "New Hands to Hold," "Something Has to Give," "Do I Belong Here?," and "When I Look in Her Eyes." In May 2025, she released her EP Conversations With Those I Love, a deeply personal collection that earned placements on major Spotify editorial playlists and recognition as one of Spotify's Fresh Finds of the Month. A regular performer on Brighton's live music circuit, Mistry has headlined venues including Concorde2, The Folklore Rooms, Green Door Store, and The Hope & Ruin, while also appearing frequently in London. She has supported artists including Paris Paloma, Of Monsters and Men, and Alfie Templeman, performed at the The Great Escape Festival, and received support from BBC Introducing and Jack Saunders of BBC Radio 1.
