Bio
Freight Train Foxes are a Brisbane‑based acoustic folk duo crafted by songwriters Pat Kenny and Kelsey Berrington. With backgrounds as diverse as an Army officer and a circus performer, the pair met at a local open mic and quickly discovered a shared affinity for heartfelt, storytelling songwriting. Drawing inspiration from acts like Passenger and The Lumineers, they craft what they call “suburban acoustic folk” — music that soothes and wounds, gentle yet emotionally potent. Over multiple EP releases they've amassed millions of streams and earned industry recognition, including nominations for the Queensland Music Awards and, in 2024, winning the Groundwater KIX‑Start Competition. Known for intimate live performances and evocative lyrical work, Freight Train Foxes continue to grow their reputation on Australia’s folk and roots stage — authentic, melodic and resonant.
