Garbage is a Scottish‑American alternative rock band formed in 1993, featuring Shirley Manson (vocals) and producers/musicians Duke Erikson, Steve Marker, and Butch Vig. They blend rock with electronic elements, creating a dark, edgy, and polished sound. Their debut album Garbage (1995) and follow-up Version 2.0 (1998) brought international success, with hits like Stupid Girl and Only Happy When It Rains. Over their career, they’ve released multiple albums, sold over 17 million records worldwide, and influenced the alt‑rock and electronic‑rock hybrid scene.
