Bio
Gearóid McCarthy is an Irish folk‑inspired singer‑songwriter originally from Foynes, County Limerick, Ireland, known for his warm, powerful voice and heartfelt storytelling through music rooted in tradition and soul. He began performing in local music sessions at a young age and gained early recognition through appearances on RTÉ’s Class Act and The All‑Ireland Talent Show with Mad For Road, where his singing talents were first widely noticed. Gearóid has toured internationally, including performing with Celtic Legends in over 40 countries, and his music blends classic folk sensibilities with contemporary heart and emotion that resonates across generations. His original songs such as “Going Out For One” — which topped charts in several countries — and “A Place Called Newfoundland” showcase his ability to connect personal roots with universal themes. In January 2026, Gearóid is embarking on his first solo Australian tour, bringing the soul of Irish music to stages in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth, where fans can experience his storytelling, passion, and intimate performance style live.
