Gut Health is a six‑piece dance‑punk/no‑wave band from Naarm (Melbourne), Australia, known for their hypnotic, chaotic and kinetic sound that blends dance‑punk, art‑punk, no‑wave and noise‑rock into electrifying live performances. Formed in 2021 by vocalist Athina Uh‑oh and bassist Adam Markmann during Melbourne’s pandemic lockdown, the group quickly developed a reputation for bold, visceral music and immersive shows. Their debut album Stiletto (2024) received wide critical acclaim listed among Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Australian Albums of the 2020s So Far and earned them the 2025 AIR Award for Best Independent Punk Album or EP while also earning multiple Rolling Stone Award nominations. Gut Health’s sound is defined by angular guitars, hypnotic rhythms, atonal edges, and a groove‑heavy backbone, reflecting influences from punk, experimental post‑punk and club culture. They’ve toured internationally — including Europe and the UK — and have shared stages with acts like Primal Scream, Hiatus Kaiyote, Otoboke Beaver and The Black Lips.
