Bio
GWAR is an American heavy-metal band formed in Richmond, Virginia in 1984. Known for their elaborate science-fiction-themed mythology and grotesque costumes, the band portrays its members as interplanetary warriors who engage in satirical, over-the-top live shows involving fake blood, urine and theatrical violence. Over the years the lineup has changed frequently; none of the founding members remain in the current version. GWAR has released fifteen studio albums, and their work blends heavy metal and thrash with punk-influences and performance art.
