Heaven is a veteran Australian heavy rock/metal band formed in 1980 in Sydney, Australia that became one of the country’s most notable hard‑driving acts of the early 1980s. Originally evolving from the Adelaide band Fat Lip, Heaven built a reputation with a raw pub rock‑metal style that drew comparisons to AC/DC before leaning into more commercial heavy metal akin to Judas Priest. They recorded three studio albums — Twilight of Mischief (1982), Where Angels Fear to Tread (1983), and Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door (1985) — and toured extensively both in Australia and internationally, sharing stages with major bands including Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Kiss, Black Sabbath, and Mötley Crüe. Although the original lineup underwent many changes over the decades, the band’s legacy endures with reunions and performances into the 2020s, with members such as Laurie Marlow, John Haese, Peter Millwood, Mick O’Shea, and Steve Down carrying the torch of their classic heavy rock sound.
