Heavy Chest (originally from Te Whanganui‑a‑Tara / Wellington, New Zealand) is a dreamy indie/alternative music project that has become active in the Australian music scene since relocating to Naarm (Melbourne, VIC). Andre Smith began Heavy Chest as a solo bedroom recording project and over time expanded into a collective with members on drums and bass, blending reflective songwriting with atmospheric instrumentation and subtle experimental touches. Heavy Chest has built a following with richly textured tracks and collaborations, including with acclaimed artist Benee on the single *sunday926*, and has performed live at venues and events in Australia and overseas.
