Bio
Hedge Burners are a Melbourne-based Australian band blending punk, garage rock, and dolewave/alt-country influences into a gritty, melodic sound rooted in the local indie scene. Formed by members connected to acts like Dick Diver, Boomgates, and Split System, the group features musicians including Steph Hughes (vocals/guitar), Arron Mawson (guitar), Jackson Allen (bass), and Shaun Gionis (drums). Their music combines raw, driving punk energy with reflective, atmospheric songwriting, often shaped by everyday urban experiences and shifting moods. Hedge Burners began releasing singles in 2025 before dropping their debut album Fall Out Of The Future in 2026 via Legless Records. The record captures themes of movement, uncertainty, and city life, delivered through jangly guitars, steady rhythms, and a loose, collaborative band dynamic. Known for their DIY ethos and ties to Melbourne’s underground music community, Hedge Burners continue to build momentum through local shows, radio play, and independent releases, carving out a space between garage punk urgency and introspective indie rock.
