Hommus Idol is a Warilla, NSW (Australia)-based rock outfit known for a tongue-in-cheek DIY style, blending punk energy with comedic and satirical lyrics. They started releasing music around 2020; some of their earliest tracks include For Shit Sake, New York London Paris Warilla, Cowper St Frogger. They released the EP A Trio Of Hommus in 2024, which includes tracks like Say No To Techno, Rivet Can, Don’t Play Games, Double Dipper, 100 Percent (Susbag). Their lyrical content tends to draw on local / suburban reference, dark humor, satirical takes on culture, everyday life and “warped” perspectives. They are very much independent / DIY: self-released tracks, local performance scene; active on platforms like Bandcamp, Triple J Unearthed, and playing local shows.
