Bio
HYLA is a Melbourne-based indie rock trio formed by Alex Hayes, Rob Stephens, and Michael Antonas, musicians who have previously toured and performed with acclaimed Australian acts including Abbe May, GUM, and The Silents. Drawing inspiration from dream pop, garage rock, '90s psychedelia, and new wave, the band crafts atmospheric guitar-driven songs that balance hazy melodies with driving rhythms. Influenced by artists such as Lush, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Stone Roses, The Church, and The Go-Betweens, HYLA delivers a nostalgic yet contemporary sound that blends shimmering textures with psych-infused indie rock.
