Bio
James Dela Cruz is an Australian DJ, turntablist and electronic music selector with nearly 30 years of experience in the scene. He grew up in the western suburbs of Melbourne with a deep love for funk, R\&B and jazz records, which shaped his eclectic approach to DJing from early on. Dela Cruz started out as a mobile DJ in the 1990s, developed his skills in turntablism and later formed the collaborative DJ project 2 Minute Needles with fellow DJs. He went on to become a touring member of the acclaimed Australian electronic group The Avalanches, performing internationally and contributing turntables and keyboards to their live shows around the world, including the touring era around *Since I Left You* and *Wildflower*. After his time with The Avalanches, James has continued to build his own profile as a solo DJ and selector, delivering dynamic sets that span house, disco, funk, UK garage, drum & bass, and more, and playing at clubs and events across Sydney, Melbourne and beyond. He’s played alongside major international DJs and has been a fixture on the Australian underground club circuit for decades.
