james K is the project of New York–based musician and visual artist Jamie Krasner, known for her dreamy, experimental sound that blends electronic textures with intimate songwriting. She has spent the past decade building a reputation in underground electronic and art-pop scenes through solo releases and collaborations. Krasner began her creative path as a visual artist and folk-leaning songwriter before moving deeper into electronic production, developing a hazy and hypnotic sonic identity shaped by ambient, trip-hop, and dream-pop influences. Her music has appeared on labels such as UNO NYC, Dial, and Incienso, and she has collaborated with experimental artists including Yves Tumor, Mykki Blanco, and Oli XL. In 2025, she released her third album Friend, marking a stylistic evolution toward more accessible dream-pop while retaining the atmospheric and collage-like production that defines her work.
